Controlled Impedance
We experience a growing demand for printed circuit boards where a controlled impedance is required. Therefore we decided to invest in the necessary equipment to offer you this feature.
 
The impedance is mostly effected by the relative permittivity (Er) of the base material, the dielectric thickness, the copper thickness, track width and the isolation between tracks. These variables are best known by the PCB manufacturer and can be calculated easily with the Polarintruments “Speedstack” software we have at our disposal. The Polarinstruments automatic coupon generator’ software generates an accurate coupon which can be added to the production panel so there can be high confidence in producing impedance controlled PCBs.

Thermally conductive tape for aluminium boards
Elprinta already manufactures IMS (Insulated Metal Substrate) boards for several years. Aluminium substrate which has a very low thermal resistance is typically used for heat transfer.
 
The increasing use of high power-LEDS also increases the need for a proper thermal management.
 
Several thermally conductive adhesives are available, but most of them have to be applied after assembling the board. Some are not fit for mechanical PCB processes such as drilling/routing and V-cut. Others cannot withstand the heat of wave soldering and reflow processing.
 
Elprinta has found the one thermally conductive adhesive which withstands heat and moreover which resists mechanical PCB processes.
 
As from now we can deliver your IMS boards with cut-to-PCB self adhesive, ready to use, thermally conductive tape.
